Following on from futuristic synth track ‘Yeah Right’, Danish outfit CHINAH release ‘Real Thing?’ - a sublime example of minimalism in electronic production that doesn’t leave you bored or wanting more; it’s a satisfying sip of Scandi-noir. The track is comprised of a metronomic beat, electronic cuts and loops, a miasma of sustained synth and led by Fine Glindvad’s sultry-yet-passive vocal. The sing-speak lyrics stitch together images like “sick dog” and “blue dreams” to portray feelings of crushing hard and being unsure whether those emotions are being reciprocated.
