CHINAH REAL THING?

Following on from futuristic synth track ‘Yeah Right’, Danish outfit CHINAH release ‘Real Thing?’ - a sublime example of minimalism in electronic production that doesn’t leave you bored or wanting more; it’s a satisfying sip of Scandi-noir. The track is comprised of a metronomic beat, electronic cuts and loops, a miasma of sustained synth and led by Fine Glindvad’s sultry-yet-passive vocal. The sing-speak lyrics stitch together images like “sick dog” and “blue dreams” to portray feelings of crushing hard and being unsure whether those emotions are being reciprocated. This searching for happiness is encapsulated in this hazy cloud that CHINAH have expertly constructed to ponder one question - is it a real thing? - Hannah Thacker
